Journal of Tribal Studies

Our new Journal of Tribal Studies seeks to offer a forum for presenting original research articles written on the India tribal cultures and expressive behaviour. There is great need to present and share research on tribal languages of India many of which are threatened and are on the verge of extinction. Dedicating a journal to the tribal studies would focus scholarly attention on the oral literature of the tribal languages and renew interest in lexicon projects, and educational endeavours that concentrate on multilingual education.

We plan to publish the first issue of Journal of Tribal Studies online in June 2011

We are at present engaged in establishing the editorial board and getting the consent of scholars to do the peer review for the articles received. Scholars interested in serving on the editorial board are welcome to write to me Email: muthu@indianfolklore.org

However online submissions are open at our portal and please visit http://indianfolklore.org/journals/index.php/Indigenous/user/register to register and submit your article for consideration of publication in Journal of Tribal Studies
